John Donald heads up our Global Energy offering as Global Energy Director. He has worked as an energy loss adjuster for over 30 years, initially in the Middle East before transferring to London in 1990. In recent years he acted as Managing Director and Chairman of The Energy & Natural Resources division of a major loss adjusting firm. He has wide international experience in the onshore and offshore energy markets. John has managed the adjustment of many complex energy claims throughout the world. He also has a wealth of experience in the adjustment of construction claims, hurricane-related losses, property damage, well control and OEE losses, Loss of Production Income (LOPI) and Business Interruption (BI). In his early career he worked at British Steel and on engineering projects in UK-based Petrochemical facilities.

Abdullah is an engineer with over five years of experience in loss adjusting. He has a strong background in handling a wide range of property and industrial claims across various sectors, working closely with insurers, brokers, and corporate clients. Abdullah also brings experience in operations, logistics, project coordination, and risk assessment. Throughout his career, Abdullah has been involved in the investigation and assessment of complex losses, including fire and industrial incidents. His work focuses on root cause analysis, damage assessment, and policy coverage interpretation, ensuring accurate and well-supported technical reporting. Over the course of his career, he has managed claims from initial site inspection through to final reporting, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to deliver clear, timely, and practical loss assessments in line with market standards.

Profile
John has 43 years of experience within the insurance industry, including over 27 years of adjusting experience in West Africa, the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He started his career in the insurance sector in 1980 with a leading UK Insurer as an engineer surveyor. He then joined the adjusting profession in 1996 with a UK loss adjusting company, working overseas, mainly in West Africa and dealing with construction, engineering, and marine losses. After working in various parts of the world, John returned to the Middle East in 2013 where he joined an international adjuster in their Al-Khobar office, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as an engineering loss adjuster and in 2015 he was promoted to Branch Manager. John has experience working on many major losses in construction, utility, power, energy, petrochemical, and offshore and onshore. He has also undertaken catastrophe work in the Caribbean and Greece.
