Gustavo has over 20 years’ experience in structural design and oil & fuel tanks MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul). Throughout his career, he worked as an engineer mainly on urban development projects, as well as on various civil construction projects being responsible for quality control of raw materials and finished products. Gustavo successfully completed the Engineering Insurance Underwriting course taught by IMIA, which is endorsed by the German Insurance Academy. Gustavo specialises in construction and energy claims and is currently coordinator of US services within the Miami office.

Prior to commencing his loss adjusting career, Jorge developed wide-ranging experience having led an array of tunnelling, construction and sewerage projects as well as undertaking geotechnical surveys on several industrial plants, construction sites and residential properties. He has also undertaken various risk surveys throughout the course of his career on various power plants and commercial properties. As a loss adjuster, Jorge has handled property damage losses resulting from flooding, landslides, earthquakes, hurricanes and cyclones. He has also managed complex claims involving waterways, desalination plants, hotels and convention centres amongst others. He has specialised in CAR / EAR, machinery breakdown, contractors’ plant equipment and fire risks. Jorge has published various research reports for the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources of Cuba, as well as for the College of Engineers of Venezuela and other professional publications in Spain. Moreover, Jorge has been a keynote speaker on technical topics at engineering conferences in Cuba.
