The Seychelles has declared a state of emergency and instructed citizens to remain indoors following an explosion at a warehouse storing explosives on Mahe, the largest island in the Indian Ocean archipelago. Official sources report the explosion took place in the Providence industrial area, causing extensive damage in the vicinity and surrounding areas.
