Throughout the last few months in addition to our normal adjusting activities,
Advanta has been actively involved in training activities as well as other industry events.
Manuel Rebelo (our Director for Sub-Saharan Africa) participated in and contributed to, the
Basic Engineering Reinsurance Course organised by
Munich Re in August. Manuel had the opportunity of making a presentation and conducting a workshop on a complex engineering claim case study concerning a Fluidised Fed Boiler.
Oliver Thoma had the privilege of attending to the
IMIA annual conference last September, which in this occasion took place in
New Delhi, India.
Later in September, again
Manuel Rebelo conducted a workshop on cargo insurance and claims to
ENSA Seguros de Angola, leader of the Angolan insurance market.
Paulo Pereira (our Director for Portugal) attended to the
BrokersLink annual conference in October. This year the event took place in
Singapore and its non-member session focused on the increasing importance of corporate social responsibility, emerging reinsurance trends and new opportunities in Asia.
And last but not least, once again we had the opportunity to let off some steam with friends and colleagues, at the
Oktoberfest organised by
Advanta Munich. The standard bierfest lyrics at first seemed impossible to pronounce. However, after the lubricating effects of 2-3 Maß Bier, ‘Ein Prosit’ could soon be heard from the midst of even the most conservative of the Anglo Saxon cousins.
