Advanta was an active participant in the
Munich Re Regional GAPA (Germany Asia Pacific & Africa)
Executive Claims Conference in
Dubai.
This was a unique opportunity to exchange views on current technical claims issues with colleagues and clients from a wide region, comprising countries from Angola to Australia, passing through China, India, and of course UAE.
George Viar delivered a presentation at the conference and
Manuel Rebelo da Silvia (our Director for Sub Saharan Africa) and
Geoff Cooke (who has worked extensively in francophone North Africa) participated in the workshop and experts forum.
On 22nd February and 14th March we were honoured to be invited to participate in a 2-day
Business Interruption workshop with
WILLIS in
Portugal (Porto and Lisbon offices, respectively). Paulo Pereira, director of Advanta Portugal presented some interesting case studies related with this cover.
In March we were invited by
Munich Re’s direct insurance arm (CIP) to participate in a workshop to identify and discuss specific challenges facing insurers in handling losses in the energy sector. The topics discussed were loss mitigation, loss adjusting best practice, loss management planning and claims handling protocols. All major adjusting companies in the energy sector were represented and views were openly shared making for a productive event.
Following the expansion of
Advanta’s global network to
Sub-Saharan Africa with the opening of a regional hub office managed by
Manuel Rebelo, we are pleased to announce the opening of new associated offices in
Nigeria and
Zimbabwe.
