The UK has been hit by three large storms in just a few weeks. Storm Barbet hit the UK first on 18th-21st October 2023 bringing gusts up to 70mph and heavy rain to the UK, causing significant and widespread disruption, with hundreds of homes and businesses being damaged by floods. This was closely followed by Storm Ciarán on 31st Oct-2nd Nov 2023 also bringing heavy rain and high winds of 90mph (with further inland gusts reaching 50 to 60mph), and again caused substantial disruption and damage to many homes and businesses.

Storm Debi has now hit the UK and Ireland on 13th November, once again bringing even more heavy rainfall and strong winds, causing power cuts, flooding, and further disruption to public transport, with the strongest winds reaching up to 77mph. The UK could be braced for more storms in the coming weeks and winter months ahead.
