Hurricane Ian is approaching Category 5, rapidly gaining strength with winds now reaching 155 miles an hour, the National Hurricane Center said.

While the hurricane is expected to make landfall on Florida’s Gulf Coast later today, more than 2 million people in Florida are under evacuation orders, and catastrophic storms, strong winds and flooding are expected in the peninsula. The Hurricane has already impacted a wide area of the state after causing major damage in Cuba.
