Following the prolonged extreme heat across the UK and Europe over the past weeks, the Met Office has issued weather alerts for most of the UK over the coming days.
The warnings cover a range of extreme weather conditions including thunderstorms, torrential rain, power disruption and high risk of flooding. There is risk of damage to both homes and businesses, as well as service and utility outages and significant disruption to travel.
