Branch Manager, Abu Dhabi

Responsibilities

The Branch Manager would be responsible for conducting and supervising all claims generated from the local market. 

This position is based at our Abu Dhabi office but will require travel for BD, fieldwork and management activities as well as occasional international travel.  

A key component of the role will be the development of our Power & Energy Business in the region.  Ideal candidates will have relevant P&E experience and command a market following.  

The Branch Manager will be responsible for coordinating work for existing clients and will help to develop and execute a BD strategy to grow our business and reputation within the region. The successful applicant will ensure that client requirements are met and a high standard of work is delivered consistently.

The Branch Manager will have responsibility for the following activities:
Hands on loss adjusting for property, engineering, energy and liability claims and on the P&E market
Developing our regional office with its own team of adjusters
Overseeing the implementation of long-term strategic plans
Identifying new opportunities in order to achieve business objectives
Following up on leads from existing clients and developing client relationships
Implementing and developing Advanta best practice
Pursuing speaking or sponsorship opportunities at local or global seminars to increase the market awareness of Advanta’s service offerings
Reviewing office performance on an ongoing basis and addressing resourcing or performance issues where necessary
Arranging marketing trips and meetings with Insurers, Brokers and Claims Settling Agents.

Skills / Experience / Requirements

Applicants must be authorised to work in Abu Dhabi without restrictions.

Ideal applicants will have

At least 10 years’ loss adjusting experience
Relevant P&E experience and command a market following 
Loss adjusting qualifications (e.g., CILA, CII or equivalent)
Familiarity with the insurance and reinsurance market in the Middle East
Own initiative and manage a portfolio of claims within the regional area
Outstanding analytical and leadership skills
Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks, senior level communication and networking skills
Experience of leading meetings and discussing claims with senior personnel (ideally from the insurance industry)
Previous experience of leading a loss adjusting team / office.
