    Jose Miguel has 20 years of extensive experience in engineering, oil field production management and reservoir control, including over 10 years in the loss adjusting profession in the United States, South America and the Caribbean region. He specialises in claims related to oil & gas, petrochemicals, property, as well as business interruption and liability. Jose Miguel oversees the Miami Office and provides valuable support to our associates and offices within Latin America, predominantly in the Caribbean and Central America.

    Christopher has over 10 years’ experience working in structural design, quality assurance, construction and risk analysis. He has also acquired vast experience in quality control of high value projects and has assisted in high profile litigation cases related to construction claims including latent defects, property damage and business interruption.

    BSc Eng (Civil), Certified Engineer (UNAICC - National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba), ACA Accredited Claims Adjuster, IMIA Certified (Engineering Insurance Underwriting Course). 

    Gustavo has 8 years’ experience in structural design and oil & fuel tanks MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul). Throughout his career, he worked as an engineer mainly on urban development projects, as well as on various civil construction projects being responsible for quality control of raw materials and finished products. Gustavo specialises in construction and liability claims.

    Roberto has 5 years’ experience working as a loss adjuster. Before entering the insurance industry, he worked for 10 years in project and strategic marketing management for various international companies. Roberto has also considerable experience in developing and implementing environmental assessment and geographical information systems in Venezuela. At Advanta, he specialises in property and liability claims.

    Yiliam Cardona

    BSc in Civil Engineering (Havana University), Civil Engineer, certified by the Cuban Engineer’s Association (UNAICC), specialised in the Environmental Impact of Construction Projects.  Completed Marketing Services and Airports Courses, Civil Aviation Institute of Cuba, ACA Accredited Claims Adjuster (Florida Department of Financial Services).

    Yiliam is a civil engineer graduated from the School of Civil Engineering at Havana University (ISPJAE) with a minor in Design and Construction of Roads. She has also specialized in the Environmental Impact of Civil Works. Yiliam has undertaken various marketing services courses and airport courses with the Civil Aviation Institute of Cuba.  Throughout her career, she has performed a variety of roles, including the maintenance of civil works, creating and developing plans for the remodelling, expansion and inspection of airports, as well as the evaluation of aerodromes. She has also designed and planned environmental impact methodologies for civil works.  Additionally, Yiliam has collaborated in the accounting and financial areas of business whilst serving as a Planning Manager. Currently, Yiliam is part of the Advanta Miami team, undertaking loss adjusting work and specializing predominantly in Construction All Risks and Construction Plant and Equipment projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.

    Alejandro Colman

    Mechanical Engineer Certified by the Engineers Association of Venezuela (CIV), Professor of the University of Zulia, Member of the Association of University Professors of Venezuela (APUV), Licensed Florida Loss Adjuster.

    Alejandro has extensive expertise resolving problems in the area of heat transfer and HVAC&R field. His experience spans risk surveys and inspections and loss adjusting claims related to property, equipment and industrial machinery, fire insurance, flood damage, machinery breakdown and all construction risk insurance. Alejandro has been a university professor for more than 15 years, teaching courses in the mechanical engineering area. He has expertise leading multidisciplinary teams in technical assessments for the industrial, energy and oil sectors, in which he has had to work under rigorous environmental regulations and considering all financial aspects of each project. He has experience working in the implementation of Thermo-Fluid Dynamic computational simulation techniques for the design of cooling systems as well as in the evaluation of refrigeration processes, air conditioning and the bioclimatic architectural design of enclosures. Alejandro has been a researcher, conference speaker, author, jury of peer-reviewed journals and has received numerous awards for his work as a researcher in Venezuela.

He has developed his career as a lawyer and a claims adjuster in international credit insurance claims and he is specialized in out of court settlements of personal injury and recourse claims in the EU, USA, Latin America and the Caribbean.
