Graham Whitelaw - Senior Director

Graham Whitelaw started his career in the Middle East in 1992 when he was appointed as Operations Director of the Kuwait / Iraq UNCC sponsored Compensation Project. He later became the main board Director and shareholder for a large international loss adjusting practice, being an expert in various areas such as Marine Hull, Corporate Fraud and Professional Indemnity. Currently, Graham is the Senior Director of Whitelaw Advanta, predominantly responsible for all technical issues and overseeing all major and complex losses.

Mark Smith is Director and founder of Whitelaw Chartered Loss Adjusters and Surveyors. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1994 in a large London Composite insurer before moving into loss adjusting. Based in Dubai, he personally undertakes many of the major assignments given to Whitelaw Advanta as well as taking a lead role in the day to day operations of the business. Mark has been involved in a large number of assignments in countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan and Thailand.
BA (Bachelor of Technology in Engineering), Master of Science in Engineering Control Systems and Instrumentation.
Jerin is a qualified and experienced engineer who has been part of Whitelaw Chartered Loss Adjusters and Surveyors since its inception in 2007. Based in the Dubai office, he has developed close relationships with our instructing principals and is nominated on various policies for large accounts. His unprecedented knowledge on issues involving all aspects of engineering and construction claims makes him an asset of inestimable value. Jerin specialises in Engineering, Construction and Plant and Machinery claims.
Diploma in Accounts, Diploma in Insurance, PIC (Professional Insurance Certificate), Certified ISO Quality Auditor.
Moein is licensed by the UAE Insurance Authority and is an experienced insurance professional who has worked for insurers and loss adjusters in the Middle East for more than twenty six years. During his time at Whitelaw, Moein has handled a diverse portfolio of claims, including commercial property, construction, machinery, Liability and cargo as well as Security Surveys.

B.E. (Bachelor of Technology in Engineering), MBA (Masters in Business Administration, Specialized in Insurance), Licensed Surveyor and Loss Assessor, Lloyds Agency CCSP Stage 1 and 2, Life Member of Insurance Institute of India, CII (Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute).
Sham is a qualified Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in Marine Insurance and Loss Adjusting. He has held senior positions in UK and Middle East based loss adjusting practices, along with management roles in companies like Lloyds and P&I Correspondents. Sham has been part of the Dubai office for the last four and half years, where he has handled Marine Hull, Pleasure Crafts, Freight Forwarders Liabilities and Marine Cargo claims amongst others. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration and is a well-known and respected professional in the Insurance market in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.

Matthew joined Whitelaw as a Junior Loss Adjuster from Cunningham Lindsey, where he held the position of Internal Adjuster within their Glasgow office. During that time, he built strong and effective relationships with his clients and dealt with a large and diverse case load of property claims. Matthew also has experience working within different areas of the UK Insurance Industry including underwriting and data analysis. During his short time at the Dubai office, he has taken ownership of a varied portfolio of claims including commercial property, plant and machinery, construction and fidelity.
BA (Bachelor of Risk Management and Insurance), Licensed Surveyor and Loss Adjuster (Jordan Insurance Authority), Technical Cargo Surveying (Lloyd’s of London), Cargo Claims and Recoveries (Lloyd’s of London).
Ayman is a licensed surveyor and loss adjuster with a Bachelor Degree in Risk Management & Insurance. Prior to joining Whitelaw Advanta, he gained 6 years’ experience working with Lloyds in Jordan and Northern Iraq as a surveyor. He specialises in marine and property claims and cargo inspections and surveys in the Middle East. In addition, Ayman has experience conducting investigations in regard to theft and fraud as well as hauliers liabilities and pre-risk surveys.

Throughout his long and distinguished career, David has held a number of directorial positions with leading claims management companies in Europe and Latin America. He is considered one of the leading adjusters in handling tunnelling losses. Before entering loss adjusting in 1980, David gained 12 years’ experience in construction and civil engineering in the UK, Germany and South America. He has specialised in claims related to CAR / EAR, machinery breakdown including ALOP / DSU, as well as risk surveying.
