Graham Whitelaw - Senior Director

Graham Whitelaw started his career in the Middle East in 1992 when he was appointed as Operations Director of the Kuwait / Iraq UNCC sponsored Compensation Project. He later became the main board Director and shareholder for a large international loss adjusting practice, being an expert in various areas such as Marine Hull, Corporate Fraud and Professional Indemnity. Currently, Graham is the Senior Director of Whitelaw Advanta, predominantly responsible for all technical issues and overseeing all major and complex losses.

Mark Smith is Director and founder of Whitelaw Chartered Loss Adjusters and Surveyors. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1994 in a large London Composite insurer before moving into loss adjusting. Based in Dubai, he personally undertakes many of the major assignments given to Whitelaw Advanta as well as taking a lead role in the day to day operations of the business. Mark has been involved in a large number of assignments in countries such as Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan and Thailand.
Gareth Sampson - Country Manager
ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute), FCILA (Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters), FUEDI (European Loss Adjusting Expert), ELAE (European Federation of Loss Adjusting Experts), Member of the Society of Professional Engineers in Thailand.
Gareth has over 35 years’ experience as a Loss Adjuster handling major / complex commercial, construction, CAR, EAR, engineering, financial lines and liability claims. Over the course of his career, he has also gained experience in biomass, gas engines, transformer and waste to energy claims, as well as traditional energy and petrochemical losses. In addition, he was also involved in the claim’s management of Hurricanes ‘Gilbert’ and ‘Hugo’ in the Atlantic Ocean, as part of the worldwide catastrophes team. Gareth has international experience, including Thailand, the Middle East and the UK.
Diploma in Accounts, Diploma in Insurance, PIC (Professional Insurance Certificate), Certified ISO Quality Auditor.
Moein is a Loss Adjuster with more than 26 years’ experience. He is licensed by the UAE Insurance Authority and is an experienced insurance professional who has worked for insurers and loss adjusters in the Middle East. During his time at Whitelaw, Moein has handled a diverse portfolio of claims, including commercial property, construction, machinery, Liability and cargo as well as Security Surveys.

BE (Bachelor of Technology in Engineering), MBA (Masters in Business Administration, specialized in Insurance), Licensed Surveyor and Loss Assessor, Lloyds Agency CCSP Stage 1 and 2, Life Member of Insurance Institute of India, CII (Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute).
Sham is a qualified Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in Marine Insurance and Loss Adjusting. He has held senior positions in UK and Middle East based loss adjusting practices, along with management roles in big companies in the area. Sham has been part of the Dubai office for the last four and half years, where he has handled Marine Hull, Pleasure Crafts, Freight Forwarders Liabilities and Marine Cargo claims amongst others. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration and is a well-known and respected professional in the Insurance market in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.

Ayman is a licensed surveyor and loss adjuster with a Bachelor Degree in Risk Management & Insurance. Prior to joining Whitelaw Advanta, he gained 6 years’ experience working in Jordan and Northern Iraq as a surveyor. He specialises in marine and property claims and cargo inspections and surveys in the Middle East. In addition, Ayman has experience conducting investigations in regard to theft and fraud as well as hauliers liabilities and pre-risk surveys.

Matthew joined Whitelaw as a Junior Loss Adjuster after working in a big company in Glasgow as an Internal Adjuster. During that time, he dealt with a large and diverse case load of Property claims. Matthew also has experience working within different areas of the UK Insurance Industry including underwriting and data analysis. During his short time at the Dubai office, he has taken ownership of a varied portfolio of claims including Commercial Property, Plant and Machinery, Construction and Fidelity.
B.Eng (Bachelor in Civil Engineering).
Muder has more than 8 years’ experience as a structural engineer working on large-scale complex projects with both engineering design and construction supervision roles. He has a solid background on international design codes and site construction issues, and is now applying his knowledge towards engineering and construction claims whilst pursuing the relevant certifications in loss adjusting.

B.Eng (Electronics & Instrumentation).
Sriram has over 9 years’ experience in Construction handling both small- and large-scale projects. He has first-hand experience in various roles like design, foundation, procurement and project planning. Sriram will combine his knowledge in Engineering claims management with the study of new credentials and certifications in order to reinforce his skills and experience as a Loss Adjuster.
