    Oliver Thoma - Director

    BSc Eng (Elec - Mech) with specialisation in Mining, MSc Eng (Operations Management). 

    Oliver has over 15 years’ experience in handling high value CAR / EAR, power, industrial all risk and property claims across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before joining Advanta in 2005, he had also gained valuable experience in working on high-profile losses related to tunnel collapses, major plant and machinery breakdown in the mining, petrochemical and energy industries. 

    Languages: German, English, Afrikaans and conversant in Spanish.

    Holger Hillebrand

    MSc Eng (Civil Engineering, University of Stuttgart).

    Holger has over 20 years’ experience in Underwriting and Claims Management of large CAR/EAR and Property All Risk claims worldwide. He worked in the construction industry as a Civil Engineer in Germany before he became internationally engaged in the insurance and reinsurance business in places like Munich, Mexico City, Zurich and Oslo. Holger has experience in academic research, working on a project related to the safety of RCC dams under seismic loads in the University in Spain; and as Manager in a big firm taking care of Property claims.

    Languages: German, English, Spanish, Norwegian and French.

    Gunter Schück

    Dip Eng (Mech) (Chemnitz University of Technology). 

    Gunter has over 30 years’ experience in loss adjusting handling engineering and fire claims throughout Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Before starting his career in the insurance industry, he worked for 12 years as a Power Plant and Petrochemical Maintenance Engineer within petroleum industry. Gunter’s main specialities include CAR / EAR, machinery breakdown, petrochemical risks and business interruption as well as risk surveys.

    Languages: German, fluent in English and basic knowledge of Russian.
