Advanta operates a two tier directorship strategy in accordance with the multinational nature of our business and network of offices. At a country level, our directors manage their respective teams of adjusters and support staff, maintain a close relationship with our principals in the region to ensure the smooth handling of their claims and promote Advanta in accordance to our group strategy. Our Office Directors, who are all active senior adjusters or forensic accountants, play an essential role in taking the pulse of the market and gathering key information, which is then fed into the next tier.
Our team of Group Directors is comprised of some of our Office Directors. They are responsible for collating the relevant information from our Office Directors and Management staff, assembling a strategy for their scope of management and implementing a coordinated course of action to accomplish it.Our Group Directors currently are:
George Viar - Managing Director
BA (Hons) Business Administration (ICADE Business School), Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), Dip Marketing (ACIM).
George co-founded Advanta Global Services in 2003 and has served as Finance Director and Head of Forensic Accounting, before becoming Managing Director in 2014. Previously, George had held management positions in leading forensic accounting and loss adjusting firms. In the course of his over 20-year career in claims George has gained extensive experience in the evaluation of corporate losses in a wide range of industry sectors all over the world. He has specialised in Business Interruption and ALOP / DSU claims but also possesses experience in Fidelity, Products’ Liability, Bankers’ Blanket Bond and Financial Institutions.

David McGhie - Business Development Director
AA Dip (Diploma of the Architectural Association), Chartered Architect (RIBA), Dip Engineering.
Throughout his long and distinguished career, David has held a number of directorial positions with leading claims management companies in Europe and Latin America. He is considered one of the leading adjusters in handling tunnelling losses. Before entering loss adjusting in 1980, David gained 12 years’ experience in construction and civil engineering in the UK and Germany. He has specialised in claims related to CAR / EAR, machinery breakdown including ALOP / DSU, as well as risk surveying.

Oliver Thoma - Power and Mining Director
BSc Eng (Elec - Mech) with specialisation in Mining, MSc Eng (Operations Management).
Oliver has over 15 years’ experience in handling high value CAR / EAR, power, industrial all risk and property claims across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before joining Advanta in 2005, he had also gained valuable experience in working on high-profile losses related to tunnel collapses, major plant and machinery breakdown in the mining, petrochemical and energy industries.

Adam Humphrey - Energy and Property Director
LL.B. Bachelor in Law (University of East Anglia), DipLP Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (University of Law), MA in Management and IT (University of West London), Fellow Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (FCILA), Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), Member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb), International Certificate in Risk Management (CRIM), Associate member of The Academy of Experts (AMAE), Accredited Mediator (CEDR), Accredited Expert - European Federation of Loss Adjusting Experts (FUEDI-ELAE), Fellow of the International Federation of Adjusting Associations (FIFAA).
Adam is a Chartered Loss Adjuster with over two decades of experience managing technical and complex contractual and insurance claims internationally. Adam possesses a wealth of experience having worked in the construction and engineering industries, prior to entering the loss adjusting profession. Adam has built a reputation in the insurance market due to his extensive experience in energy, property, construction & engineering and specialist liability claims.Languages: English, basic German and French.
Jose Miguel Varela - Regional Director

Jose Miguel has 20 years of extensive experience in engineering, oil field production management and reservoir control, including over 10 years in the loss adjusting profession in the United States, South America and the Caribbean region. He specialises in claims related to oil & gas, petrochemicals, property, as well as business interruption and liability. Jose Miguel oversees the Miami Office and provides valuable support to our associates and offices within Latin America, predominantly in the Caribbean and Central America.Languages: English and Spanish.
Management Team and Support Staff
In addition to administrative and support staff in our offices who liaise with the day-to-day duties of the core businesses, we have dedicated teams at a group level to support our Group Directors strategies and initiatives as well as our offices. These teams are pivotal to ensure coordination across the group and they act as focal points in their respective areas of responsibility, allowing our offices to concentrate in their responsibilities and centralising duties which are more efficiently handled by one team closely coordinated.

Jennifer Simons - Operations Manager
Agile Foundation & Practitioner (ongoing), HR Diploma, APMP Project Management qualification.
Jennifer has more than 8 years’ experience working within operations for professional services firms. Prior to joining Advanta, she looked after systems, data, people and processes across a variety of business functions including finance, marketing, HR, legal, IT and compliance. Jennifer joins Advanta as Operations Manager where she will lead change projects to support the future growth of the business.
Cinthia Arboleas - Operations Coordinator
BA in Public and Institutional Relations (Argentinian Business University, UADE), Certificate in Digital Marketing Immersion, Member of the Argentinian PR Professional Council.
Cinthia is a Public Relations professional with 14 years’ experience in Corporate Communications, Strategy and Client Management in Latin America. She has a vast experience managing teams and devising business strategy in diverse industries: F&B, Consumer, IT, Health, Construction and Agriculture; including B2B and B2C products and services. She has also volunteered as a Counsellor for different NGOs and has been part of the Argentinian PR Professional Council for more than 10 years. As part of Advanta, Cinthia will strengthen the team handling marketing and operational projects.

Eniko Lackner-Czagany - Operations Coordinator
BA in Human Resource Management (King Sigismund Collage, Budapest, Hungary).
Eniko started her career in the financial sector. Over the years she focused on customers’ needs and developed positive professional relationships with them. Before she joined Advanta she manged her own business where she gained experience in a wide range of operational aspects. Eniko works closely with directors and managers to support operations and marketing efforts.

Ramiro Bazzolo - Operations Consultant
MBA with specialisation in Management Consulting (Grenoble Ecole de Management, GGSB Off Campus, London), BA (Honours) Marketing (John F. Kennedy University, Buenos Aires).
Ramiro has more than 10 years’ experience in Finance and Consultancy working for UK, European and international clients. During his career he has founded two companies and has been responsible for the improvement of international collections processes, reducing debt and increasing profit substantially. As a Consultant, he has been in charge of managing the entire merge process of companies and of improving customer services as well as internal reporting. Ramiro has recently joined Advanta’s team to improve the financial and operational processes by applying modern management models.

Carlos Pereira - Group Financial Controller
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (IFRS), Association of Accounting Technicians, Accounting and Computing Diploma (Uruguay).
Carlos is a commercially astute, fully qualified finance professional, who has been an ACCA member since 2006. Prior to joining Advanta as Group Financial Controller, he gained over 10 years of post-qualification experience within practice and industry sectors, covering a wide range of operational areas and industries. His strengths are financial control, management information production, budgeting, forecasting and analysis. Carlos is currently responsible for overseeing the company’s budget, monitoring business performance, developing financial procedures and strategic planning.

Vibishalinii Kesawarna - Management Accountant
Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, in progress), Certified Management Accountants (CMA SL), Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT SL), Higher Diploma in Business & Finance Management (HDBFM).
Vibishalinii has more than 13 years’ experience as an Accountant in charge of a variety of responsibilities such as accounts preparation, bookkeeping, financial analysis and regulatory compliance. Before moving London, she worked in different companies in Sri Lanka, where she was in charge of delivering sales forecasts, negotiating with suppliers and developing more efficient procedures, amongst others. She joins Advanta to be part of the finance department to reinforce the local team and support the global network.
Maria Romero - Accounts Assistant
Manual and Computerised Certified Bookkeeper (ICB - Institute of Certified Bookkeepers), Dip Accountancy and Taxation.
Maria has over 9 years’ experience managing her own company in the construction industry, providing her with a deep understanding of the different areas of a business and the issues that often arise both in accountancy and management. Having worked in the UK and Spain, she has also developed a multi-cultural approach to business and work environments. At Advanta, Maria utilises her skills to provide high-quality assistance to our Finance Department and also plays a key role in the implementation of our ERP system across the group.

Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
Luke started his career in finance as the Accounts Assistant for Walsh Solicitors where he gained knowledge in the running of a successful business and financial operations. After being promoted to Accounts Manager he took on more managerial duties alongside internal bookkeeping, whilst finishing the AAT Advanced Diploma. Now at Advanta, Luke is able to use all of the financial skills he has developed for the betterment of Advanta and its clients. Since the move, Luke has continued to grow with the Advanta family by expanding his knowledge of multinational companies and foreign currencies.
HR and Compliance
Pauline Yin - HR & Compliance Manager
MSc in International Business (University of London, Birkbeck College, London), Diploma in International Business (International Trade Institute, Taiwan), Diploma in Tourist Industry Management (Ming Chuan College, Taiwan).
Pauline has gained her professional experience working internationally, both in the United Kingdom and in Taiwan. She has extensive business insight and has developed a wide-set of skills in finance, management and compliance. Pauline has been involved in all aspects of the group’s corporate compliance matters and works closely with our finance team in this area. Jennifer Colebourn - HR Coordinator
CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management, BA (Hons) Film & Television Studies (University of Wales).
Jennifer is a qualified Human Resources Professional with over 5 years’ experience. She has worked in a big Research Agency as an HR Executive as well as in the Charity sector. At Advanta she will provide high-level service to all stakeholders and will be the point of contact for all HR queries and information requests. Jennifer is responsible for the day-to-day functions of human resources and for administering the HR procedures for the company.
